I should say that in order for an action to be considered a mortal sin, according to the Catechism of the Catholic Church, that action must meet three conditions: it must involve a grave matter, the person carrying it out must have full knowledge that the action is wrong and is against God’s law, and there must be complete consent of the person’s will, with regard to it.
