And, anyway, one must remember that conversion in the religious sense is a process that continues till one’s mortal life is complete; it isn’t an instant that divides one’s life into two stages, the before and after, where the ‘after’ is characterized by a kind of spiritual safety, or security, in which one is, as the saying goes, ‘saved.’ That might be something that certain Protestants or Evangelicals believe, but it isn’t Catholic.
