I think in fact that I’ve already heard people younger than I am say “socials” instead of “social media.” When they are referring to the digital platforms that we use to post things publicly, online. Which is only an abbreviated way of saying the same thing, of course, but which still sounds more contemporary to me than the way I’ve said it. Maybe I’m just old.
