A. didn’t know who Ziggy was, so I described the comic strip to her; he is basically a character with a big round head and a bulbous nose, which is what the rock formation in question looked like. The part of the formation that comprises his nose was a separate rock altogether, but had been smushed up against the boulder that forms the ‘head’ by what I suppose were the forces of time, weather, and erosion, as well as the condition of chance. The eyes were made by slits or indentations that fortuitously were in the ‘right’ spot.
